Martin Eagan and his wife Sue have opened their home—and hearts—to children in need of life-changing medical care through their partnership with Healing the Children, a nonprofit dedicated to providing medical services to underserved children worldwide. Since 2013, the Eagans, residents of Montville, New Jersey, have hosted two international children, offering them not just a place to stay, but a family, support, and a sense of belonging during their treatment.

Their first experience involved hosting Emily, a one-year-old from Honduras who received cranial surgery at Morristown Medical Center. Most recently, the Eagans welcomed Boris, a nine-year-old orphan from Kazakhstan undergoing complex hand surgeries at Holy Name Medical Center. Throughout his recovery, Boris became part of the Eagan family, attending local elementary school classes and quickly becoming a favorite among students and teachers.

Martin and Sue’s dedication to service reflects their deep belief in compassion, community, and giving children a second chance. Their involvement demonstrates how ordinary families can make an extraordinary impact—locally and globally—by opening their doors to healing and hope.
